Training in Longyearbyen, Norway

The real training began in Longyearbyen, Norway on April 6, 2012. Five days of intense training camp. It was a great opportunity to get a taste of extreme weather conditions and to put my body at the limit of exhaustion.

Longyearbyen is the largest settlement of Svalbard, Norway. This archipelago is located in the Arctic circle.

2012 Longyearbyen Shakedown team

Mission accomplished. After 4 days of intensive training, we reached the Polar Explorers hangan at Longyearbyen. Five to seven hours of cross country ski a day, camping at - 30 degrees and eating dehydrated food. It was an amazing experience.

Special thanks to Mr. Antoine Simpson from Equip Outdoor Technologies, Montreal for providing the best polar gear. For more details about our gear please visit www.equipuk.com
