Race for the South Pole

In 1911, Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen reached the South Pole, followed by Scott who died on the return journey. In 1914, Shackleton made his third trip to the Antarctic with the ship 'Endurance', planning to cross Antarctica via the South Pole.

Training in Paris

In July I attended a medical conference in Paris. The conference was about my area of research: The molecule HLA-G. We presented our recent discoveries in cardiac transplantation. We were able to find a novel link between HLA-G and the development of coronary disease after transplantation.
